This week seems to have been pupdate week with multiple updates on pups both large and small. We also got a look at some crochet baskets with laser cut bases, a geometric drawing toy, a prize winning club exhibit of turned work and some of us even managed to do some turning...whatever next. Read on for more:

Andrew Hall: WoodturningAndrew Hall sent over some photos and a video showing the progress with Roman...not really pupdate anymore as Roman is now a grown up really!! The work is paying off and Roman is proving to be a fantastic dog...and like all Labradors he really does like the water...and the mud!!

Burnsy: WoodturningBurnsy has made it back out into the workshop to produce some bases for a new project to make bowls by using Crochet. A new geometric drawing toy was produced for a couple of local children...apparently it's vaguely reminiscent of a well known toy...no idea what that might be. New glasses arrived to replace the ones damaged at the Festival ....very cheap!!

Gary Lowe: WoodturningGary Lowe sent over some photos of a carved and textured bowl, this one has a rather lovely detail added to the inner rim and a detail made from the same material on the base. As always lovely work on show!!

Jim Briggs: WoodturningJim Briggs sent in a pupdate of his own (the dog is on loan though!!) with a visit to a local church for a pet blessing service...thankfully it is getting colder so that should be the end of the shorts for a while....

Len Shield: WoodturningLen Shield is recovering well from the Cataract surgery and is getting back to the workshop. Len sent in a photo of a yarn bowl he had made, it's a really nice example and shows Len hasn't lost his touch. More to follow as the eyes improve we hope!!

Malcolm Ferguson: WoodturningMalcolm Ferguson sent over a photo of the last few projects he has made from a tree felled in a friends garden, the spalting in the wood has made it really interesting and Malcolm has been able to make good use of it!! The pity is that it's all pretty much used up.

Martin Stacey: WoodturningMartin Stacey sent in the main pupdate we had all been waiting for. All puppies are now progressing though there is one that is not out of the woods as yet and is causing some sleepless nights. Fingers crossed that things improve with our next update.

Mike Wilson: WoodturningMike Wilson is recovering well from the stresses and strains of the Festival in Stratford and sent over a photo of his local club entry into the competition at the Festival which is based on the speech by Prospero in Shakespeare's play "The Tempest" - "We are such stuff As dreams are made on, and our little life Is rounded with a sleep. ". It seems that this piece is headed to the RSC no less!!

Phil Irons: WoodturningPhil Irons sent over some photos of a piece currently in progress. The urn is being made from a tree which was taken down in the garden of a local house, the ashes going into the urn are those of someone who lived in the house pretty much all of their life. A very special commission indeed.
